Chicago, IL. (PRWEB) February 28, 2012

Pepper Miller, co-author of “What’s Black About It?” and author of the soon-to-be released “Black (Still) Matters In Marketing” and President of The Hunter-Miller Group, will draw on her experience as a sought after consultant to Fortune 500 brands and her two books for her presentation at the 8th Annual M2W®– The Marketing To Women Conference, April 24 & 25, Chicago Cultural Center.

Miller explained, “My session will elevate marketer’s understanding of black women. It will increase their cultural IQ and show them how to connect with this valuable consumer segment in a relevant way. To do that, I’ll present a mosaic picture of black America and offer a deeper and more intimate look at the evolving concept of what it means to be a black woman today.”

“For example, the definition of the black family is changing,” Miller claimed. “While 73% of all black births are to single moms, this doesn’t mean they are bad moms. At the same time, young, single and accomplished childless, black women break the stereotypes about young black women. In fact many black women are delaying, or foregoing childbearing at a higher rate. In 2008, 1.7 million black women 20-34 (39.1%) had no children vs. 1.46 million, or 34.3%, childless women in 2003.”

“Pepper is a singular voice in the industry. She teaches marketers about black America with power, grace and intelligence,” stated Nan McCann, M2W® producer. “In fact in 2005 she won the M2W® ‘You Take The Cake’ best speaker award. Her client list includes some of the world’s best companies:, American Airlines, Allstate, AARP, General Mills, Ford Motor Company, Kraft Foods, Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo, Procter and Gamble, Radio One and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Pepper will educate and inspire everyone who attends.”

“Understanding all women and their true motivations will help the marketers at M2W® build more and better business with women. Study after study has shown that women are the dominant drivers of our consumer economy,” McCann added. “They account for $7 trillion of annual spending in the US, and over $20 trillion globally.”

M2W® is annually attended by Fortune 1000 senior brand marketing executives and their agencies. Registration typically includes companies as diverse as Harley-Davidson, Bayer, Aetna, ESPN, Kraft Foods, Ford, GM, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg, Diageo, Walgreens, Wells Fargo, NBA, WebMD, Burton, Ampersand AD, L’Oreal, ConAgra and Whirlpool.
